thank you for making something for me! i'm sure i'll love it regardless of what you do, because you're making me a thing and that's really great! also i like a whole bunch of different (and sometimes contradictory) things, see: my bookmarks. but i love an excuse to talk about shit i like, so here's some of that!
please feel free to disregard everything here except the Do Not Wants, and also i'd really appreciate if you respect the Please Warn Fors. i don't mind receiving anything categorised as a Please Warn For, i would just rly appreciate a heads up before going in.
some fannish tropes i love:
-genderfuck/rule 63
-fake dating
-marriage of convenience. LOVE pining for the person you are married to. LOVE non-romantic marriage also
-soulbonding, especially if there are Complications. is it one-sided? is one of them in a relationship with someone else? are soulbonds platonic/romantic/both/neither? gimme all of that. preferably not soulmark, but you do you.
-pining
-bed-sharing
-fuckbuddies/friends with benefits. strictly platonic + pining while fucking are both delightful to me
character dynamics i am all about:
-found families
-really close friendships
-queerplatonic/quasiplatonic relationships
-non-romantic sexual relationships
-non-sexual romantic relationships
-(sexual+romantic relationships are good too)
-ensemble cast/group dynamics
-people taking care of each other
-people being bad at feelings but feeling a lot anyway
-i hate the word banter but. banter and loving teasing
-genuinely unrequited pining where they still have a good relationship
-tenderness between characters
-balanced relationships
polyamorous dynamics specifically
-love a straightforward triad or a V but also LOVE a complicated polyam setup. LOVE relationship negotiation
-established A/B and B/C, A and C bond/conflict over the differences in their relationship with B
-A and B are fuckbuddies, then B starts dating C and A assumes the hooking up will stop, but C is cool with it so maybe not??
-A tries to help C get with B while pining, and C tries to help A get with B while pining
-A and B are established relationship and C is pining for them
-i like when everyone has their own relationship with the other person, and they get different things from each other, without it being like, there is something Missing from their relationship with the other person.
i'm easy for AUs, especially:
-any that preserve character dynamics. transplant them to whichever setting you choose, but i'm not so keen on, for example, making them childhood friends if they aren't childhood friends in canon.
-any kind of team-based AU. spaceships, an office, sports (ROLLER DERBY AU!!), school debate team, superheroes, tv show presenters, tv show contestants, criminals, paranormal investigators, teachers, youtubers, literally any group setup scenario. team as family? ALL ABOUT IT.
-very accurate/intensely researched/specifically detailed/take your fandom to work AUs
-obscure or uncommon AUs. if you have an idea for an AU you want to do PLEASE go for it
-any of the usual fusions. hogwarts, star trek, doctor who, supernatural, sentinel/guide, stargate, pacific rim, leverage, etc.
-unusual fusions would also be excellent. if you want to take your fav piece(s) of media and mash it together with whatever we've been matched on, i would LOVE that
-high school/college/grad school/etc
-werewolves/vampires/ghosts/any mythological creature/angels/demons/robots/etc
-canon divergences/fork in the road/what ifs
-canon setting + some additional AU aspect
some kinds of stories i'm drawn to:
-explorations of LGBTQ identities/feels about being queer
-fun + whimsical/wacky hijjinks
-angst with lightness and/or humour
-healing after pain
-soft romo nonsense/sappy romcom elements
-character-driven over plot
-mysteries/heists
miscellaneous story elements i like:
-bi/pan/polysexual characters
-Gender Stuff
-body modification
-settings that feel like characters
-religious/spiritual elements
-plants
-magic in otherwise mundane settings
-fantasy/scifi/supernatural stuff
-relationship negotiation
-non-sexual intimacy
-neurodiverse +/ disabled characters
kink and sex stuff, if that's a route you want to take:
-fisting
-oral sex
-reciprocation
-sex that's fun, awkward, tender, silly
-bondage
-painplay
-kink without d/s
-kneeling
-platonic d/s
please absolutely no:
-non-con
-minor (under 18)/adult
-cross-generational incest
-somnophilia
-humiliation
-d/s that's about punishment/discipline
-discussion of diets/nutrition plans/exercise regimens/body maintenance/weight management/etc
not a dealbreaker but i'd rather no:
-thoughtless misogyny/racism/homophobia/transphobia/etc in historical settings, because It Was Just Like That In Those Days. actual period-typical bigotry or pretending everything was fine and good pls!!
-characters lying about a big part of their identity or pretending to be someone else, particularly to pursue a romantic relationship
-pregnancy
-power imbalances in romantic/sexual relationships
-infidelity
-police/military/government intelligence agency AUs
please warn for:
-dub-con. pls give details of consent issues, including if it's inherent to a trope, eg sex pollen. pls especially warn if the characters aren't in a position to give/remove consent, even if they are okay with what is happening.
-character death
-explicit description of self-harm
-queer narratives involving family
-queerphobia in religious settings
-sexual assault/abuse/rape and related trauma
