dear yuletide writer!
Oct. 25th, 2020 10:32 pmi have a general dear creator letter with tropes i love, Do Not Wants and Please Warn Fors, but here's some yuletide-specific info, with the fandoms i requested!
requisite disclaimer: optional details are optional; i really will love anything you write for me so long as it does not contain my Do Not Wants and has the relevant warnings i've requested. i would much rather read something you enjoyed writing than something you stressed about!
a yuletide-specific note: i would prefer not to get christmas-themed fic, or generic holiday celebration fic really! however i'm very up for non-christian religious characters celebrating their religious holidays.
god, literally anything. i'm so mad we'll never get a season 2, so potential season 2 stuff would be: amazing. i obviously DEEPLY ship tuca/bertie, but i'm also (somewhat unexpectedly) fond of speckle - no pressure, since i deliberately didn't request him, but bertie/tuca/speckle in some polyam configuration would delight me if you were up for it. i would also love tuca&bertie gen! queerplatonic tuca&bertie! i love their relationship so much in whatever way you want to view it!!
things i love about the show: it covers like, real and unpleasant Issues tm while still being? really fun? and the fun doesn't detract from the Issues or trivialise them? i also love the animation style, but obviously that's hard to recreate in text-only form, but i love the energy and colourfulness of it so much and would love to see that translated into fic.
platonic ot3 of my HEART, i fucking love these three. benson&dave are also v important to me. benson/troy is a DELIGHT and i would love all the soft teen romcom stuff for them. same goes for kipo/wolf, though probably less soft, given the two of them's Everything? though they do deserve all of the softness.
note: as of writing this letter i have not finished s2 but i am rectifying that! please feel free to go full canon, though as ever i do love AUs. i love the setting of this world so much though? so if you did wanna write an AU, i'd prefer some kind of canon-plus-something-else AU.
things i love about this show: the art style which, again, hard to translate into fic!! how hopeful it is, how frequently it rewards kindness and optimism from the characters, how real it feels even with how objectively bizarre it is, how fucking bizarre it is.
i requested thesethree four whoops i cannot count because they're my favs but honestly, ensemble gen would be a DREAM. or character studies about any of the characters! or smaller group/paired interactions! i don't massively ship anyone here, but i don't have any notps either, so if you'd like to write something shippy, please feel free.
things i love about the show: the worldbuilding, everything about the concept of the vox phantasma and the vox populi, the sense of place being so fucking strong nyc is literally a character in and of itself, all the weird dream magic including the grey baby, how fucking funny it is, how fucking devastating it is.
