so the creative things i do are writing, podficcing and making podfic covers, but my processes for the last two are pretty standard?

for podfic, i pick a story, i record the story, i edit the story, i post the story. if i'm gonna incorporate music or sound effects, i usually realise during editing, and i lump all that in the editing process.

when it comes to cover art, i only make a cover if i have a solid concept for one. from there it's gather the pictures, arrange them in some way, mess with the contrast/colouring/etc, then fight with the text so it looks like something i won't hate. i have a massive library of fonts that i've collected over the years, so this last step has been a lot easier recently.

writing, though. hoo boy. ( it's a whole ass mess )

i don't know how common moodboards are outside of tumblr - those mini-picspam aesthetic posts on a particular concept - but i think they're pretty cool, and i've never made one myself, so i decided to make one for clachnaben's a++++ soul plant au.

i wrote way more than i expected to this year, but not as much i wanted!! alas. 19 fics isn't so bad for me.

my favourite: bring me to life (the adventure zone)

this was so fucking hard for me to write, because Writing Is Hard, and i'm not 100% satisfied with how it turned out, but i'm still really proud of it. it's a pretty nonsense premise (hot fuzz if hot fuzz had necromancers) and i'm not sure i got the tone right, but i wrote a bunch of jokes that made me laugh, SO. also it was one of my pod_together projects, and pumpkinpodfic made a fucking amazing podfic out of it. seriously!! if you are at all interested in this story do yourself a favour and listen to it instead of reading it.

most kudos: reflect more than light (friends at the table)

i have no idea how this ended up being so popular?? it's a college/figure drawing au for a relatively small fandom, and there isn't even any sex! there's barely any making out! i am really fond of the concept though, so i'm glad it resonated with other people i guess.

hello friend! i am so excited for whatever it is you make for me. more than anything, i love hearing someone tell me a story that they obviously enjoy. if you love it, i will love it! i love music and no music and sfx and no sfx and experimental styles and radio plays and oral notfic and completely standard podfic. it is all so good.

some things i really like: any kind of team-based AU, very accurate/intensely researched/specifically detailed AUs, wacky hijinks, sappy romcom nonsense, really close friendships, quasiplatonic relationships, explorations of LGBTQ identities, feels about being queer, genderfuck/rule 63/etc, fake dating, soulbonding, pining, ensemble/group dynamics, casual touching, platonic bed-sharing, found families, complicated polyamory, settings that feel like characters, religious/spiritual elements, people taking care of each other, lovers to enemies to friends, backstory, character studies, plants, men doing emotional labour, supernatural stuff, robots, healing after pain, time travel, magical weirdness in otherwise mundane settings, marriage of convenience, fantasy/scifi settings, painplay, bondage/restraints, non-sexual kink, people being bad at feelings but feeling a lot anyway

*i am very very picky about D/s and usually it's a bad time, but this is an example of it really working for me if you wanna go that route.

the 100 (no bellarke or clexa)

mostly here for bellamy, raven, wells, lincoln, monty and miller. harper, monroe, gina, echo and octavia are good too. bellamy/raven are the ship of my heart and i'm indescribably fond of monty/miller. i have some residual fondness for clarke and would enjoy bellamy/clarke/raven(/wells).

canon compliant stuff is cool but i'm only vaguely keeping up with the show post 3x08 so canon divergences and AUs are particularly good here.

i'm basically all about the ensemble for both these seasons. for c/w, i don't not ship cass/mako but i prefer it as part of aria/audy/cass/mako. jill is my actual favourite, and i enjoy aria/jacqui/jill in any combination. i also love diego, and just generally the odamas fleet is my favourite faction.

for tm, echo reverie owns my heart. echo/anybody is good with me, including for my sins echo/declan's, and OF COURSE echo/grand. i love the notion as an ensemble and in any combination. also good: gray/demani. also also good: c/w and tm canons mixing (potentially with time travel shenanigans??)

the adventure zone (all arcs)

all about the ensemble here too! dust podfic would be super cool, but genuinely i love all the arcs and their characters. i LOVE the character interaction in taz, so character-driven and/or heavy dialogue podfic would be fantastic.

shippy stuff is great, gen stuff is great, ensemble gen is particularly great, but my absolute fav is lup&taako.

men's hockey rpf (pk, agally/bgally, avs minus varlamov, mitch/dylan/conor, leafs, nicky/ovi)

i have recently fallen back into hockey and much deeper than last time oh boy. i am forever in pk fandom!!! my otp is pk/happiness but i would be up for pairing him with basically anyone he's ever interacted with. particular faves are pk/roman, pk/tavares and, of course, pk/carey. i am very into the pre-2016 habs ensemble pk/carey/prusty/patches/gallys/etc, so stories about them then or now with some of them having escaped montreal would be lovely. i have a disgusting amount of feelings about les gallys especially post alex being traded.

i've got incredibly into the avs, especially tyson barrie, disaster bi. tyson/nate/gabe is what i am ABOUT, but the couple breakdowns are great too. rookie house ot3 is also great! i very much enjoy the avs ensemble minus varlamov pls and thank you. eta: also apparently I care deeply about mitch marner/dylan strome/conor mcdavid, so that's a thing. eta eta'd: i guess i'm into the leafs now?? i blame my sweet boy john tavares. pretty much any and all ships are groovy and the ensemble is Everything. eta eta'd AGAIN: i was tentatively appreciative of nicky/ovi and now it's hit me like a freight train, I Love Them

important note here: i would really appreciate if you could avoid the physical toll of hockey on players' bodies, especially injury recovery and the intense scrutiny and maintenance of a particular body. this is not to say i don't want to hear stories about chronic pain and disability! it's just the body talk i can't handle.

steven universe (steven&/connie, lapis/peridot, feasibly any gem/gem ship)

i got all caught up with the most recent series and realised how many feelings i have about this show. i would list my favourites but i would be listing pretty much everybody, so you really can't go wrong podficcing in this fandom. if i had to on pain of death pick a single favourite it would be peridot and i LOVE everything about her and her barn wife lapis lazuli. i also adore steven and i adore connie and i adore how much they adore each other.

buzzfeed unsolved (ryan/shane, ryan/sara/shane, ryan/zack)

i love bfu supernatural a lot, but true crime in general is kinda bad for me. entirely fictional crime? all good! so don't let that stop you making serial killer au podfic if that's what your heart desires. ryan/shane is of course great, and everything about ryan/sara/shane is so good for me, and i'm also pretty into ryan/zack.

i enjoy the ensemble around bfu too! i don't watch worth it but i love steven lim and steven/andrew is very cute. i do watch ladylike and i love all of them but especially jen. i LOVE quinta and i'm really enjoying quinta vs everything. i do enjoy the try guys but mostly i just love eugene endlessly.
